Jenny Vinyard Update

Jenny Vinyard will be featured for an hour-long performance/interview on KSMU 91.1 FM at 12 noon on October 10, 2008. The program will be taped and aired on this date, barring any unforeseen reasons for pre-empting the broadcast.

Jenny will also be performing at Harlow's on October 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Jenny's band and repertoire are expanding, so be sure to make plans to listen to the radio broadcast and attend her next live performance at Harlow's.

Thanks for letting us know when the JV Band will be performing, Stu! I will get a kick(no pun intended) out of being there. Later.

Stu, sorry my last post about your very excellent rock band was very sketchy. Though I have a long-standing policy of never apologize/never explain, I will make a rare exception in this instance. See, what I meant by "Kick" was a reference to the fact that your lead singer and drawing card has a familial connection to the now-defunct KICK radio station here. The old studio is still there, abandoned, right next to the converted-to-an-artsy-fartsy-gallery Monarch Machine Shop. But, I've been sitting here, thinking of a way, using tact and with the best of intentions, to ask you what the content of new repoirtoir is. Cover songs? Which in particular? Please, enlighten Me. Thanks.

Aside from wishing you weren't anonymous, I appreciate your interest and maybe you can (privately) let me know who you are at our next performance, if you wish.

The primary expansion of repertoire is primarily new material for a new recording, but also includes several covers of Lucinda Williams' works and one song by Carly Simon. No titles on the blog. We'd like to surprise you, if you haven't heard.

Thanks, Stu. That is very intriguing. So, your band, "Jenny's Vineyard" will hence be covering "That's The Way I Always Thought It Should Be", or "You're So Vain"? Sure, I would like to meet you in person, when I attend the next "Jenny's Vinyard" Concert. The thing is, that I prefer to remain anonymous at all times----Even when I am around my very closest associates. Y'see--I am a devout atheist, an aggressive Peacenik (who is an avid proponent of Totalitarian Anarchy), and a very shy extrovert. Since your next gig will be in close proximity to Halloween, I prolly will attend wearing my trick-or-treat outfit to the show, just for fun. Every year, I go out on all-saints nite, and instead of bothering people by knocking on their door to get a treat, I just grab the sack away from the kids who've already done the hard work. Don't blame me for this--- I got the idea from the government. Oh, now one other thing: You say your band is gaining some new members. Does this mean "JV" is expecting? Maybe I'm making an assumption due to severe Palin media saturation overload. Or, maybe you kids now have a drummer. Thanks. Keep us informed. Later.

Ok. Jenny Vinyard is the artist and I play with her. So, it is "Jenny Vinyard", NOT "Jenny's Vinyard." Thanks for the interest and humorous input.
